On Friday October 9th and Saturday October 10th, 2015 Renewable Energy Professionals and Specialists in the energy industry will be presenting at AVTEC Alaska’s Institute of Technology in the Student Center to help educate our community on affordable energy options for heating, provide updates on available and successful renewable resources, and review new technology advancements for Alternative Energy in Alaska. Featuring Keynote presentations, workshops, demonstrations, exhibits, door prizes, student art contest, virtual home & business energy tours.

Calling All Student Artists!
The Seward Alternative Energy Group announces their second annual Alternative Energy Art Contest. This contest is open to students K-12 and the artwork should include images and/or themes that show the residents of Seward or our surrounding communities utilize clean energy and alternative energy resources (biomass, geothermal, “small” hydro, sun, and wind). Submissions must be on 8 ½ x 11 or 11×17 sized paper and flat and can be made using colored pens, tempera paint, colored pencil, regular pencil, or crayon. All entries must include the title of their piece, the students name, school, grade and phone number on the back of their submissions.
