There are boundless outdoor activities to enjoy in Seward in the winter and spring. Luckily for us (and yes, we mean luckily) our snow can stick around until May, meaning we get to enjoy skiing, fat biking, ice skating and more!
Avid skiers can strap skins onto their skis (or splitboards!) and head into the backcountry, where snowy peaks beckon experienced skiers. If you’re less of a downhill and more of a cross country skier, don’t fret. There are plenty of groomed ski trails around Seward for nordic skiers of all skill levels. Whether you prefer skate or classic technique, check in with the Seward Nordic Ski Club for the most up-to-date nordic skiing conditions.
And for the cyclists who don’t let a little snow get in their way, fat biking trails weave in and around Seward. Scope out the conditions by checking local parks’ and forests’ websites or at the Seward Visitor Center.
