Providence Seward Medical and Care Center features a 24-hour emergency room and 4-bed in-patient hospital. Seward Mountain Haven is a state-of-the-art long-term care facility, opened in 2009, with a capacity for 40 residents.
Seward Community Health Center (SCHC) is a federally qualified community health center that serves the entire community of Seward and the surrounding area. Providing comprehensive primary healthcare services to patients including medical care, minor office procedures, immunizations, laboratory tests, well-child visits, school and sports physicals, management of chronic conditions, referrals to specialty care, prenatal and postpartum care, and general health education and counseling. SCHC does not discriminate based on the ability to pay. Seward Community Health Center accepts patients of all ages and offers a sliding fee discount program to anyone who qualifies. Chugachmiut’s NorthStar Health Clinic is dedicated to quality primary care with a focus on preventative education and screening. The clinic provides acute and chronic illness care, emergency care, routine screening exams, well childcare and immunizations, prenatal care, and behavioral health.
The NorthStar Dental Clinic provides services to beneficiaries and their family members, and staff travel to our four remote villages to provide residents with state-of-the-art dental care. Other services include Tribal Home Visiting for families with children under age 5, family practice, public health, physical therapy, chiropractic care, counseling services, and a pharmacy. Chugachmiut has renovated its facilities and is slated to open it’s new doors in Spring of 2025.

None of the Seward area medical facilities provide childbirth options. Many expecting parents opt to travel and spend time leading up to their due date in Anchorage or Soldotna.
