The Community Awards will take place on Thursday, March 20th at the Gateway Hotel, from 6-8pm.

Seward Community Service Award: Michael Gunter, United States Postal Service

This honor is awarded to an engaged citizen and role-model who has demonstrated a pattern of leadership and civic engagement while creating a positive impact in their workplace and community. 

Seward Business Person of The Year Award: Joshua Hillestad, Orange Bike Delivery

A Seward Chamber member who has stimulated economic development in Seward through business activity and exemplifies professional excellence in business and/or their profession.

Seward Business Site Improvement Award: Heidi Sinclair, Seward Dog Lodge

A Seward Chamber member who has made a substantial improvement to their place of business, improved safety or convenience to the neighborhood, and/or enhanced the overall aesthetics of their property to maintain the beauty of their neighborhood and surroundings.

Seward Board Of Director's Award: Natalie Norris & Angel Patterson-Moe

Each year the Chamber Board of Directors recognizes a person or organization that has demonstrated excellence and gone above and beyond in serving and supporting the community of Seward.

Seward Business Person Of The Year, Honorable Mention: Melissa Schutter, First National Bank Alaska

“Melissa has served Seward’s local and business community as Branch Lending Manager with First National Bank Alaska for over 25 years. She supports the Seward Chamber of Commerce as President of the Board of Directors, maintains a seat on the Port & Commerce Advisory Committee (PACAB), and is a member of Rotary Club of Seward. Melissa’s long-time residency in Seward has been impactful and we are lucky to have her.”
