Alaska Entrepreneurship week is a coordinated initiative to promote, assist, and unify existing and aspiring entrepreneurs in Alaska. It is brought to Seward via the involvement of Alaska Small Business Development Center and the Seward Chamber of Commerce. AKEW creates a space to connect individuals with valuable resources and skills to inspire growth and sustainability in their small business ventures. 

The first event to start off the week is a Small Business Appreciation Mixer on September 30th from 6:00-8:00pm and located at Seward Gateway Hotel. The mixer is sponsored by Royal Caribbean Group. 

By attending the mixer, you will enjoy:

  • Live music by local band, Banana Hands

  • Complimentary Food catered by the Flamingo Lounge

  • Free Beverages from Stoney Creek Brewhouse

  • Exciting announcement to be made by Royal Caribbean Group for aspiring entrepreneurs

Everyone, business-owner or not, is invited to this free, celebratory event to honor the dedicated individuals who help make our community thrive. You never know what connections you’ll make or things you will learn from an event like this one!

 

Royal Caribbean Mixer

Next on the docket is Ladies Who Launch on October 1st from 6:00-7:30pm at The Rowdy Radish on Main Street. It will be an engaging panel discussion featuring a diverse group of local female entrepreneurs. These accomplished business owners will share the stories behind their ventures, including the challenges they've overcome, the lessons they've learned, and the pivotal moments that shaped their journeys. Attendees will also gain valuable insights and practical advice tailored for aspiring entrepreneurs looking to launch their own businesses.

 

Lastly, the October Chamber Luncheon will take place October 2nd from noon to 1:00pm at The Breeze Inn. Finishing off the week with the topic of Trends & Traffic, there will be a lively discussion touching on the latest data regarding local economic health with insights from Datafy and Alaska Small Business Development Center. Come and learn about relevant sales tax patterns and local visitation trends at this Chamber Luncheon- open to all!
